I've written and sold, to my knowledge, the first Christian werewolf story. I've titled it The Fold and it is scheduled for Breakaway's October issue.
I also have a book that I'll be working on in the future--I'm currently doing research on and off for it, called The Invited. It will be a vampire story.
The horror genre shouldn't be off limits to Christians as we struggle with evil in a very real spiritual battle. There are horrifying things we face--hell being one of them, and the fact that most are heading blithely toward its yawning maw.
As for the Ezekiel reference--notice what he's told to do to those dry bones--He's to preach to them. Nothing happens when he does this. Then he's asked to prophesy to God--which means to declare God's truth back to God. In doing so he summons the wind--God's spirit, that brings life to the dead. Powerful text.
