I'm reading a book by William Lashner. It's called Past Due. It's ok. My wife picked it up at the library. Next I'll be reading one of the following: When the Day Of Evil Comes, Melanie Wells, Waking Lazarus, T.L. Hines, or one of the books by Bill Myers.

Well, I've got about a half-dozen books started. Not good. I used to be the type of person who started a book, looked at nothing else until that one was finished, and did little else until it was completely devoured. What happened!?
So books with book marks in them—the ones I have hopes of completing some time soon: Kingdom of Summer, Gillian Bradshaw C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien as Writers in Community, Diana Pavlac Glyer Becky Rebecca LuElla Miller

On Audiobook--A collection of Margaret Atwood stories. (and, truth be told, Getting Things Done, by David Allen (again).
Also reading Best of the South 2006. In addition, Relief Vol III and The Southern Review. (Do you see what Dave has done to my reading and my writing??? I don't know whether to hug his neck or beat him up in the parking lot.) |

The Proof by Austin Boyd. Looking forward to The Return. Gotta hand it to the guy--for him to get me to read even loosely based Sci-Fi, he's got to be interesting. Do love his authenticity.

Just started a creative nonfiction work called "The Violin Maker." Fascinating material, not so fascinating prose. It goes pretty quick, though.

Just finished Legend of the Firefish - loved it! The inconsistant POV bothered me a bit at first, but the story soon made me ignore all else.

Just started T.L. Hines' Waking Lazarus--great style! It is clear he enjoys not only the story, but the way it is told.
And, Mr. Hines, if you happen to come to the board--Good job! Bryn |

I've recently finished Legend of the Firefish and really enjoyed it, a fun adventure story. I've also finished In High Places by Tom Morrissey, which was amazing, what beautiful writing. Also Crazy '08 by Cait Murphy, a nonfiction book, an illuminating look at baseball as it was played during the 1908 season.

Finished Kingdom of Summer, Gillian Bradshaw (Simon and Schuster). I am not a fan of Arthurian tales, but I'm finding a copy of the next book in the trilogy. Wonderful story.

I liked The Legend of the Firefish also. A couple of glitches in motivation, I thought, but mostly a great job.
